INTEREST CHECK · A FANG PROJECT

Furshore.

A lakefront mini-con.
A weekend with purpose.

Furshore is our proposed 21+ furry mini-con: a Thursday–Sunday gathering with Monday checkout for friends, games, cookouts, and time by the water. We’re considering a large lakefront property, potentially in Dawsonville or elsewhere depending on feasibility. The venue and location have not been finalized. After event costs, all remaining proceeds would be donated to Furkids and Lost-n-Found Youth.

FROM MEETUPS TO SOMETHING BIGGER

The same spark.
A new gathering.

FANG began with people finding each other and turning “we should hang out” into actual plans. Furshore is our next ambition: bringing that feeling into a small lakefront mini-con.

We want to create an experience that feels welcoming whether you arrive with a whole pack or know absolutely nobody. The hope is simple: that you leave with a few new friends, something that inspired you, and a reason to stay connected.

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE

Good company.
Room to make it your own.

  1. Friendships that
    keep going.

We want connection to be part of the experience from the beginning. That means thinking about how people meet, how newcomers find their footing, and how a shared interest becomes a real conversation. The best outcome is a community that continues between events.

  2. Room for
    creativity.

The fandom is full of people who make things, tell stories, perform, and bring characters to life. We hope Furshore can give that creativity room to be seen and shared—and encourage people who are just starting to explore what they can make.

  3. A pace that
    feels like yours.

People connect in different ways. We hope to bring together the excitement of shared activities and the ease of simply spending time with friends, with reasons to join in and room to take things at your own pace.

  4. Good times.
    A chance to give back.

After covering event costs, our plan is to donate all remaining proceeds to Furkids and Lost-n-Found Youth. We want the weekend to create good memories and a useful contribution to animal rescue and support for LGBTQ+ young people experiencing homelessness.

    Our charitable vision

THE PERSON BEHIND THE CHARACTER

Good company
takes good care.

Respect, consent, and privacy are part of the community we want to build. Names and boundaries matter. Photos deserve permission. A friendly introduction can make a room feel much less intimidating.

We want those values to guide the planning as much as the atmosphere. Fursuit or no fursuit, first convention or longtime regular—the person behind the character comes first.

A VISION TAKING SHAPE

Where things stand.

Furshore is an interest check, with a proposed Thursday–Sunday program with Monday checkout for adults 21 and older. We’re gauging interest and volunteer support; no payment or commitment is being requested yet.
