Founder & Acting Director • Blue Wolf • Selectively Well-Behaved
Major Wuff is the Founder and Acting Director of FANG—the Furry Association of North Georgia. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, he leads the community and works with its team on meetups, events, and projects that help people find their pack.
I’m Major—the blue wolf responsible for FANG, a growing collection of plans, and a standard of presentation I consider entirely reasonable. Other people have opinions about that last part. I allow them to have them.
Originally from Toronto and now based in Atlanta, I have a background in technology and communications. I like taking complicated systems, finding the part that refuses to behave, and making everything work together. This turns out to be useful preparation for organizing furries.
My blue-wolf story began with a premade suit on a vendor’s rack at a convention. I came home with a suit; the friendships that followed gave it meaning. Behind all the fluff and carefully chosen words, I was looking for somewhere to belong.
The Pound started with people I’d met, a group chat, and the belief that “we should hang out” ought occasionally to become an actual plan. I introduced friends to friends. The chat grew. So did the possibilities.
Eventually, The Pound grew teeth. FANG—the Furry Association of North Georgia—is what came next.
I founded FANG to give people more chances to find each other: a bowling night, a game, a convention catch-up, or simply a conversation that makes walking into the next room feel less daunting. A little structure helps. So does having someone willing to make the introduction.
I care about respect, consent, and giving people space to be themselves. Come in a fursuit. Come without one. Come with a friend, or arrive knowing nobody. You don’t need an elaborate introduction. I am perfectly capable of supplying the elaborate part.
Furshore, our convention project, is still in development. There is plenty I want us to build, and I intend to give the planning the same attention as the presentation. Even an ambitious wolf must occasionally consult a spreadsheet.
As for Bean, he brings the lighting expertise, the steady paws, and an entirely unnecessary talent for interrupting my most dignified moments. I bring the vision, the vocabulary, and a perfectly respectable number of awoos. Negotiations over the last point are ongoing.
I may enjoy a little theatrical indignation. I also care very much about the people behind the characters. If I can help someone leave a meetup with a new friend and a reason to come back, that is an evening well spent.
Good company. Sharp teeth.
Do come say hello. I’ve gone to the trouble of founding an entire community to make it easier.
